OUR TRAINER - JOHN WEYMES
High Moor Racing has had horses trained by John since its syndicates were launched in 2006.
John Weymes is a highly talented young trainer, and he and his Assistant, Kirsty Buckle, are a formidable team.
Their expertise is in training horses as ‘individuals’, they ‘care' about the horses, and each has its own training regime tailored to its needs, thereby maximising its potential.
Ashgill Stables, Middleham, has provided a base for the Weymes family to successfully train racehorses for over 40 years.
John's apprenticeship to train racehorses started at an early age under the watchful eye of his father Ernie.
He went onto ride as an amateur jockey and won races under both codes, before taking up spells of employment with trainers Tom Tate and Mark Tompkins, adding to the experiences gained from working for the late Gordon Richards at Greystoke in Cumbria. www.johnweymesracing.co.uk
On the retirement of his father 12 years ago, John took out his own licence and has been sending out winners every year since.
